Terms of Use

By using https://coincalc.in, you agree to these terms. Read them once — they're short, plain, and reasonable.

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and CoinCalc ("we", "us") governing your use of https://coincalc.in and all services available on it (collectively, the "Service"). If you do not agree, please don't use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and competent to enter into a contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. The Service is intended for adult personal-finance decisions.

3. What the Service is — and isn't

The Service provides educational calculators, comparison tools, and a conversational AI assistant ("SubhSri") that compute results based on inputs you supply and publicly available formulas.

The Service is NOT:

  • Investment advice as defined under the SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013.
  • Tax advice as understood under the Income Tax Act, 1961 or any direct-tax statute.
  • Insurance advice as regulated by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
  • A solicitation to buy, sell, or hold any security, scheme, policy, or financial product.

We are not registered with SEBI, IRDAI, or any other financial regulator. For decisions that materially affect your finances, consult a qualified Chartered Accountant, SEBI-registered Investment Adviser, or IRDAI-licensed insurance broker. See our full Disclaimer.

4. Permitted use

You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may also:

  • Embed our calculator widget on your own website using the official iframe code (attribution intact).
  • Share calculation results on social media.
  • Save scenarios in your browser for personal recall.

5. Prohibited use

You may not:

  • Scrape, mirror, or rehost large portions of the Service for commercial purposes without written permission.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract underlying formulas where not already shown.
  • Use the Service to violate any Indian law, including those relating to securities, taxation, or insurance.
  • Submit false data with intent to deceive other users (where shared scenarios are visible to them).
  • Send abusive, defamatory, or otherwise unlawful messages via the contact or AI assistant interfaces.
  • Bypass any rate limits or technical protections.

6. Intellectual property

All content, design, code, calculator formulas (in their compiled form), trademarks, and the SubhSri AI assistant remain our intellectual property unless explicitly noted. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal financial planning.

Underlying mathematical formulas are public-domain or sourced from cited regulatory documents (Finance Act, RBI notifications, SEBI regulations, IRDAI guidelines). We do not claim ownership of these.

7. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that calculations are free from arithmetic, rounding, or formula errors, although we test them rigorously against authoritative sources. Always cross-check material decisions.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including but not limited to loss of profits, tax penalties, investment losses, missed opportunities, or data loss — arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim arising out of your violation of these Terms, your violation of applicable law, or your infringement of any third-party right.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service (in whole or in part, to any user) at our discretion, without notice, if you breach these Terms or behave in a way that could harm other users or our business.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

12. Changes

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance.
